Fantastic CD-single. Whatever is an incredible song especially when you consider that their first single was released less than 9 months before it. Nice chorus, great little string sections. Includes Half the World away - cracking acoustic song sung by Noel.

Beatles Beatles Beatles--who really cares? The Beatles were good in their day but let's face it--Oasis has put out as many cool songs on two albums as the Beatles did in their entire career. Not that the Beatles' influence wasn't a major factor in that, but get over it already. I listen to both.

i cannot believe you, weezer! how dare you even hint that oasis was as good as the Beatles! you are an absolute moron! sure, the Beatles were good in their day. but let's be realistic here: the Beatles were exalted in their day as the biggest band to ever take the stage, the best band to ever play! oasis is a good band, oasis is a great band, but they will never come close to even touching what the Beatles have done for rock'n'roll, and you are a fool for claiming they already have, in 2 records no less!

Mischaracterize my comments some more, lady. I said they've as many cool songs; in fact, they're cooler. Yes, the Beatles have done alot for rock 'n' roll--Oasis worships the Beatles. But I don't buy cd's for their historical value. Wow, Elvis and Michael Jackson are so grooovy, man. [sarcasm sarcasm] Just wait for their new single and eat your words.

I agree with everything ladyliz says except the part about oasis being a great band. The suck. They''re a bunch of spoiled adolescent obnoxios whining crybabies that need their diapers changed. Their fans are just as bad.

"Whatever" is a cool song. Really "Beatles-esque."

Whatever - the title is a direct route to the blase attitudes to a 'band' who have had popularity handed to them on a large plate - Anyone who listens to an album entitled such is a fool for the purchase!- Oasis stink begin to believe it!

I'm so glad that I'm not Paul McCartney, being chased by a scabby ghostly drunken figure, unshaven and lank in appearance, claiming to be 'as good' or dare I say 'better' then the Beatles! I'm sure that after all the hard work Paul, John, Ringo and George put into what they did it must be very upsetting to be continually tarred with the dirty brush and putrid funk of Oasis - I really do pity Paul and Ringo!
