Comments for Oasis, The Masterplan

The Oasis version of "Walrus" kicks ass. I saw them in Detroit and that was the finale. Wow. It totally rocked the Palace. The original definitely needed an infusion of power, as I listened to it the other day and was shocked at the degree of difference between the two. Not to knock the Beatles, though--a great melody.

Why are the Beatles so great? Because they are. Why are their songs so much better? Because. It's called a tautology. Why are the bands I think are cool really cool? Because I think so. Get off your high horse, lady. Even in a poll of exclusively music itself, the kids would pick Oasis any day. If Oasis is so much better, why are they outselling the Beatles with regard to younger listeners? At least we don't have some nostalgic bias like you do. You were probably one of those crazy chicks who worshipped a piece of fabric you ripped off of Ringo at some concert in 1964.

It's nothing to do with nostalgia, - the Beatles are good due to the fact they are accessable, fun and talented - credentials Oasis and the like will never have - the little G bros have very limited personalities in usual social circles which is why childish uncouth teeny boppers like them so much!

The only reason Oasis are selling to a younger audience is that the audience are far too stupid to realise they are being ripped off. This together with the fact that kids these days are so bombed on drugs they don't know a good album from a cracked toilet seat. I've never listened to a more miserable bunch of slimebags in my entire life, and intend to avoid them forthwith at all costs.

I might go out and buy this album just for the emotional high I'll get by snapping the plastic CD in half and burning the 'lyrics' sheet! In terms of being the 'bottom of the barrel', Oasis are still in the guttering! Wake up, wise up and stop listening to these loosers!
