Comments for Pete Namlook, Namlook IVE-MAIL: arh@cernvm.cern.ch After a while writing this I came across a couple more FAX CDs: `Organic Cloud'' Tetsu Inoue PS08/57 and `62 Eulengasse'' Namlook/Inoue PW21. These two are highly recommended, milestones in ambient music! FAX are on the net through www.hyperreal.com. Recorded Live at San Francisco 27/3/94.There`s a long quiet intro on this. Things don`t pick up untilthe 10 minute point where a distinctive bassline and rhythmbegins. The bassline reminds much of Orb`s `Blue Room`.On the whole I think this piece, even though improvised liveon the night, is quite bland and sterile. I have far moreminimalist items in my collection which contain more life tothem than this! The occasional voice which reminds us it`s`live at San Francisco` or `each day affects the next` arequite intrusive.I ended up selling this to my local 2nd dealer! I`m now verycautious about Fax CDs however professional their presentationand packaging may be.Comments supplied by users do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Roadkill Consulting, Inc. |
