Comments for Phish, Hoist

This is not really an alternative album. You could call it classic rock, country, or bluegrass and be more accurate. At any rate, its definately not Phish's best.

Phish really is the shits everyone, I mean they really can't do shit they have no fuckin talent.

A LOT more commercial than previous. It has it's moments, but not enough for me to like it. Oh yeah, and the ending jam is actually the same jam at the end of "Split Open and Melt" from Lawn Boy.

The "Split Open And Melt" jam is from a show they played a few years ago in Columbus Ohio.

Shorty 3 - 5 minute songs, not like phish at all. including the hit song Samle in a Jar. One of my least favorites

I grew up in the toolshed outside my folks house, they didn''t like me.....m-hmm....all I would do is listen to music, read the bible and eat biscuits and mustard....m-hmm.....one day, my daddy bought a mule....some people call it a donkey, I call it a mule.....m-hmm.....he put the mule in the shed to live with me.....m-hmm.....one day, I was sleeping and the mule pised and pooped on my head.....m-hmm.....I went to the CD cabinet and got a piece of crap.....some people call it a Phish album, I call it a piece of crap....m-hmm.....I hoisted that CD up with my arm, and hit that mule upside the head 2 times.....m-hmm....the 2nd time, I nearly severed the jack-ass head from the rest of it''s body......m-hmm.....I called 911 and asked them to send over a amberlence or a herst.....m-hmm.....now, I just read the bible all the time.....m-hmm....I''m the sanest person on God''s great earth.....m-hmm.

No album from phish is the best. No phish album is better or worse than any other phish album. It's like asking somone what their favorite beer is. Depends what day of the week it is, is it morning, afternoon or evening, are we celebrating enthusiastically or drinking heavily and morosely? Are we trying to take the jagged edge off life before driving home from a trying day at work ? What else do I have to do that day ? etc. The Correct assessment of circumstances produces the optimal beer choice for the occasion. The same is true for Hoist. It may not be the Phish album that gets played the most, but it does have it's place in life.

The album is inferior to most other phish albums. However, should you see these songs performed live, they are quite enjoyable; especially Axilla, Down with Disease and Scent of a Mule.

They maaaaay be Grateful Dead wannabees, as are many of us, but these cats can play in their own way, so fuck it and let em play.
