This record is affecting directly. This is an EXPERIENCE and shows how ingenoius ideas Pink Floyd had during their Roger Waters era.

All I have to say is, any album that remains in the US top 200 billboard charts for more then 13 years deserves all the credit it can get :)

If you listen carfully to the "great gig in the sky" @ around the 2 min. mark you will hear a feint wisper saying "If you can here this you're dying..."
E-MAIL: andy.mcconnell@comm.hq.af.mil
This album was produced by Alan Parsons, of Alan Parsons Prohect fame. Check the line notes.
E-MAIL: bs4917@cub.uca.edu
The wisper during "The Great Gig in the Sky" does NOT say "If you can hear this, you're dying". It says "I never said I was frightened of dying."

Whoever could have expected THIS? This album. What can I say? If you haven't heard it all, do so straight away. Rog. may have written some of the best ever rock lyrics but all members (and the great Alan Parsons) deserve full credit. The playing; the songs, the sounds: this is close to timeless. Don't underestimate the contribution of all members: "Great Gig," is classic and Wright is credited with the music to "Us and Them." "Money" sounds simplistic but this is just right for this great 7/8 into 4/4 dinosaur. Gilmour plays and sings wonderfully and Mason gets lots to do. Everything in the balance: the right measure of each part, contributing to a thoroughly satisfying whole (quite a rare thing). The sax. and female vocalists were a nice touch (even if they've since come to be used as a musical cliche on other material). Dave doesn't write too much and Rog. doesn't sing too much which was a step forward in many respects, Ian Thomas.

E-MAIL: cloud2@ix.netcom.com
J. Teel- I apologize for being so rude to you. You see, I'm jealous of the fact that you get pussy while I have to suck my own dick. Nonetheless, "Dark Side Of The Moon" still kicks ass!

What needs to be said about this one? It's already been said See the laser shows to it if you can. Classic

It is a part of music history

Easily one of the greatest albums in music history.

"Money" is anything but simplistic with its unique 7/4 time signature and three part David Gilmour solo which he wrote and engineered. He is the second-best guitarist of all time (closely behind Jimmy Page) which is only evident if you've heard Dark Side..., Wish You Were Here, and The Wall. His solos send chills up my spine with his creative use of muting, bending, and pinch harmonics. The album (with the exception of the screaming nightmare "Great Gig...") is a masterpiece.

This is one of the, if not the, best album ever composed. These guys have sooooo much ability to make people think about life (and death). However, their best song is still "Wish You Were Here". "Dark Side.." is the best overall album.

pink floyd is by far the most creative band I have ever heard. But to those who try to categorize this beautiful sound, you are wasting your time. This particular album is and always will be a part of music history. long live pink floyd.
E-MAIL: Jimmy Page
A damn good album! Not their best (in my opinion) but surely among the best. One of the most requested albums from its release up to the present day. My favorite songs on this album are Money, The Great Gig In The Sky, Breathe, and Any Colour YOu Like.

Wow...
Well, after listining to this album and watching the Dark Side of the Rainbow I have figured out the message that Floyd is teling the generation of today. They are trying to tell us of they american dream, and how it works. New car, caviare, four star, its a day dream then they want to buy a foot ball team. It makes me laugh. Watch the dark side of the rainbow and take into account all the lyrics and the money that the creator made after releasing the movie and youll understand. I see you on the real side of the moon.
