Comments for Pink Floyd, THE WALL (Limited Edition 24-Karat Gold CD)E-MAIL: www.gepr.com From the Gibraltar Encyclopaedia of Progressive Rock: The Wall - Overblown, self-pitying "World War II was a world-wide conspiracy to deprive me of my father' BS. This is not to belittle the tragedies of war and/or the loss of fathers. It can make for compelling subject matter. But notice I said "can." Any subject matter, no matter how important or compellingly tragic, can be given a treatment that would make even the most indulgent listener want to slap the songwriter around and shout, "WHO CARES???" To be honest, I don't see much effort on Waters' part to actually write lyrics; many of the songs seem not to be much more than notes for an autobiographical story or an essay. To be fair, though, it does have some nice moments--mostly on the songs Gilmour co-wrote - but I can't imagine listening to all four sides at once.E-MAIL: dslkjreoisd WOW...THIS ALBUM MUST REALLY SUCK!!! JUST LOOK AT THE LOW RATINGS!!!E-MAIL: Nigel Stone E-MAIL: Spawn Voted as the second worst Pink Floyd album on the PF internet poll site, slightly ahead of "The Final Cut".E-MAIL: gore1@hotmail.com Everyone! Go back to your hi-fi and fire up this album again. Maybe it's because you just don't get it. This is THE BEST Pink Floyd Album since Dark Side of the Moon. Period.E-MAIL: lainejoshua@hotmail.com An in-depth well-written and thought out masterpiece. One who is critical of the works of Pink Floyd should take a good long look in the mirror and realize how useless their squealing has become. Pink Floyd has been embraced and welcomed in the U.S. as a major group. They aren't insulting, just a group attempting to make a statement. Anyone cold to such memories of the past are surely doomed to continue in the footsteps of our ancestors.E-MAIL: Stuff this! This is a lame album. The ratings speak for itself. Enough said.AZTEC_01US@YAHOO.COM PINK FLOYD is the best and was wondering how I could get a copy of the wall in 24 karat gold, I haven't been able to find it anywhere, please help-thanksComments supplied by users do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Roadkill Consulting, Inc. |
