Comments for Pink Floyd, The Piper at the Gates of Dawn

*** This album demonstrates Barrett's cool songwriting craft. Very psychedelic, dark, and wierd. PRIME CUTS-- "Astronomy Domain", "Lucifer", and "Bike", in a demented sort of way. --J.Teel

One of the first CDs I bought when I started to replace my well played and well loved vinyl albums. This ranks right with the "Banana" Velvet Underground album as one of the high emotional points of rock 'n roll.

Syd Barrets Master-piece. I can't even recognize which is the best .. everything is just marvellous.

The greatest album ever made. Syd Barrett's guitar playing is superb; he has a truly unique style. Album highlights include Astronomy Domine, arguably Pink Floyd's best song, Interstellar overdrive, THE freak-out song, and Bike.

Very good album here. Track seven is great. However, the whole thing is a little out there for me. Maybe some doses would help

This album kicks ass. While not the usual Pink Floyd epic album, it is still really good. Each song has its own identity, making it a fairly diverse album. Only two songs on the album are by Roger Waters, so it is a fairly happy album. This album is definitely a must for any Pink Floyd fan.

I love this album! Syd Barret was(is) really a genius. My favourite songs are `Astronomy domine`, `Instellar Overdrive` and `Pow R. Toc H.`

I have a numbered copy of this from the UK pressing. How do I find out about its history and value?

Great album!!! Syd Barrett is, and shall always be the true Pink Floyd. To this, I only have one more thing to say... Roger Who?!?!??

I agree with Richard up there....Mr.Waters can't hold up a candle to Syd....shine on you crazy diamond!!!

This is a CLASSIC, but I don''t believe I''d say it''s one of their best albums! Good, but not great! Syd has a good style, but w/ GILMOUR the bands take to a new level in my opinion. Again, I''m not saying it''s bad, just wouldn''t rank it very high. This is a necessity for Floyd fans though, but then again, aren''t they all?
