***** this is the best pink floyd record there is. Essential to any music lover, young or old. --J.Teel

This I feel like calm sea before the storm that was produced by the Roger Waters later on. This is really a nice piece of record from PF (fortunately or unfortunately) and shows also the softer , but cynical, part of Roger Waters pen. Shine on the grazy diamond is dedicated to Syd Barret.

The title song is easily one of the best tunes ever recorded by anyone... And very personal to me. The rest? Good, not brilliant.

Everyone should have this album -Nikco

How do I feel when I listen to this album ? I think it is just like rise and shine on ....

Truly a superb mix of lyrics and music. My favorite album and definitely a must have! They refer to Barrett as a martyr, which is interesting. I heard stories about people tripping out Syd for fun -- very often -- like a game. I'm not sure if this is true or not. Come on you painters, you pipers, you prisoners and SHINE!

Just got it yesterday. This is an amazing album! Floyd rules!

Nice comentary on Sid.Waters writes about distractions after their triumphant album,"Dark Side of the Moon." Good album. But J.TEEL got a little carried away with that ***** "best floyd album for young and old"thing. Oh well he's a dumb ass.

Top Floyd album--- one of my alltime favorites that is killer to listen to all the way through. Have a Cigar might even be my favorite Floyd song ever, if that's possible. Shine On is key. Couldn't live without this one.

Itīs their best. I can hear it again and again and I will ever love this album

When I'm 85, I will still listen to this album.

Woohoo! One of top three Pink Floyd albums ever

I played "Shine On You Crazy Diamond (pts. i-v)" for some people at school and one of 'em thought it was Eric Clapton. Well, Gilmour's not quite Clapton, but he's pretty damn close there. "Welcome to The Machine" can scare the shit out of anyone with the right setting, and "Have a Cigar" is one of the best lambasting of the music industry's insincerities I've ever heard. The title track's one of the best semi-acoustic tracks ever recorded. Overall Pink Floyd's 2nd best album (behind that one with the prism on the cover... whatsitsname ;) ) and one of the 100 best rock albums _ever recorded_ (which is a big-assed honor, believe me).

"Wish..." truly indicated the end of the 60's, which actually began in about 1964. Though "Shine On" is nominally about Syd, the subtext of this and the rest of the album is an elegaic farewell what most intelligent people realize as the last peak of Western culture and manners. Roger lost his perspective for good after this one, essentially becoming a producer of left-wing rants...However, the compassion with which the Floyd inbued this work render it the most moving, and therefore essential, in their canon.

It ain't the best, but it's far close. The title track is a wonder. Alvarito thinks it's the f**king best! but I'd rather adore "Dark Side Of The Moon".
E-MAIL: gt2789a@prism.gatech.edu
The best album ever recorded, sheer genius.
E-MAIL: lt441@freenet.uchsc.edu
This is by far the best Pink Floyd album ever! The title track is one of the most memorable tunes ever to be recorded in the history of rock. David Gilmour really 'shines' when it comes to composing music for PF's songs!
E-MAIL: porohnavi@webtv.net
does anybody have a quadraphonic copy of wish you were here for sale?
E-MAIL: Jimmy Page
I have the vinyl version of "Wish You Were Here" This is Pink Floyd's Tenth Album, I think.
E-MAIL: Putrid Floyd
THIS ALBUM SUCKS.IF THEY WANTED TO HAVE A TRIBUTE TO SYD,THEY COULD HAVE DONE IT BETTER.J.TEEL CAN SHOVE HIS CIGAR UP HIS ASS AND WELCOME TO THE MACHINE CAN ONLY SCARE SCOOBY-DOO 'NUFF SAID.
E-MAIL: metalove6@aol.com
HELL YEAH! WOOOOOO! Eric Clapton may be the greatest guitar player ever, but I'd prefer Gilmour over him ANYTIME! He's unbelievable! Easily my favorite musician! This album is ONE of their best! Get it if you haven't already!
E-MAIL: To Putrid Floyd
Hey man, could you do me a favor and blow me? People like you just fuckin make me sick. Putting down the best band ever. Apparently you have no idea what you are talking about. You''re only embarrasing yourself so just take your head and shove it up your ass a little further. Floyd rules!

I like it very much, especially i like the songs: Wish You Were Here and Shine on You Crazy Diamonds. I think it's the best album of Pink Floyd.

I like this album too! I was listening to my fridge the other day switching on and off and the humming sound of the motor (which is quite loud), and it sounded just like the background to Welcome To The Machine - I wonder?
dcanard@dizney.com
I consider this my favorite Pink Floyd album. It is well-played, and if you feel your mind is slipping, play it! It will rebuild your lost or damaged brain cells. The title song especially has a good acoustic guitar riff. And the cover has some pretty wild artwork!

My favourite Floyd album. As a fenman I love the fenland sunrise depicted in the intro to Shine On. And wish you were here is my fave all time Floyd track. You also have to rate Dark Side for its clever and ultimately very Christian lyrics, and Atom Heart Mother that seems to remind you of what it felt like to be a baby. And The Wall, for its often stunning musicianship. But in the end wish you were Here is the one I play most.
