Comments for Police, The, Synchronicity

Their biggest album, and unfortunately their last studio to date. Synchronicity & Synchronicity II are both dynamite. On vinyl, they "synchronize" between sides. Wrapped Around Your Finger, Tea In the Sahara, King Of Pain , and Walking In Your Footsteps are all big. And of course Every Breath takes the cake. A little overly commercial IMO. Still, a must have for Police/Sting fans.

This is probably the best album ever made. "Every Breath You Take" is the Police's very best, and "Synchronicity 2" is not far behind. The diversity in the songs is astounding and the lyrics are fabulous. The order of the songs was well designed, warming up with the more eclectic stuff, climaxing with the hits, and then winding down with the enchanting "Tea In The Sahara" and "Murder By Numbers."

By far their most exciting and interesting studio album. "Synchronicity" and it's sequel are remarkably catchy and lyrically driven. "Tea in the Sahara", "Wrapped Around Your Finger", and "King of Pain" are the best example of Sting's soul-searching lyrics, and "Every Breath You Take" burns with a slow boil.

Not only is this the best Police album, it's the most mature. On all the other albums, it seems as though they were very young and experimenting (they're great albums but they don't compare). But with Synchronicity, there's a complete turnaround. The recording quality is tremendous and is better than most recordings made today. I only wish I had bought the MFSL version of the CD. Wow... I cannot express in words how great this album is. Truly one of the best in music history. Stands among Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon," Steely Dan's "Aja" and Pet Shop Boys "Behavior."

This is as good as it gets. The Police's fifth and final studio album, Synchronicity, from 1983, is still as close to perfection as pop music can get. From the get-go, the Police are as good as ever, incorporating all styles, all genres, and the talents of three extraordinary musicians, Sting, Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers, all three at the very top of their game. Synchronicity 1 and 2, based on the theories of Karl Jung are classics, showing that rock anthems can give you something to think about are surrounded by such classics as Every Breath You Take, Wrapped Around Your Finger, Tea In The Sahara, and King Of Pain. With Stewart Copeland's wonderful Miss Grandenko and Andy Summers' zany Mother, this is a treat to listen to, a sophisticated record by a the world's most sophisticated band.

Synchronicity is absolutely the benchmark upon which all other recordings and recording artists should be judged. In 1996, thirteen years since its release, all music which has come forth throughout the world is nowhere close to matching the intelligence of the lyrics in Synchronicity nor the caliber of musical talents given by The Police.

Think about this...Synch. could be released today and be a top 10 seller. Needless to say, Every Breath you take would still be a big single. IMO, Sting, Summers (so incredibally underrated it hurts) and Copeland (again, maybe not underrated, but definitely largely unrecognized) epitomized good songwriting, something lacking in 99% of todays music. What would you rater listen to, King of Pain, or Hold My Hand??? Give me The POlice anyday over these suck-o-rama bands.

I borrowed this CD off of my friend and I still yearn for the early bite of "Zenyatta Mondatta". Not to say this isn't GREAT. The track "Mother" is something I find surprising from Andy Summers because he seems so serious. Not like Pink Floyd's "Mother" at all! "Synchronicity II" is a track I've been looking for (not having known the name) and I think it has a great melody and beat. The lyrics are the coolest political lyrics one can find by "the cops". "Every Breath You Take" is cool because it has such a romantic melody, but the lyrics are complete "stalker note" in style. I like "King Of Pain" as it is probably the best alienation/revenge anthem that takes Nirvana to the floor any day. I don't think any of the tracks sound dated except for "Wrapped Around Your Finger". I'll buy it when I feel like it. For now, the tracks on "The Singles" will do.

I heard (i''m sure ALL of you heard as well) that they''re getting back together. I''m surprised besides the money issue that Sting and Stu could stay together for the brief great period that was The Police. I WANT A REUNION, DAMMIT! 2/15/99
Can`t get anymore police music, here it is
