I would also defy any avid Hynde fan to decipher and transcribe the words to "The Phone Call" and "The Wait", and even some lines of "Brass in Pocket". If you can, let me know - it's been a fifteen year mystery achievement of that album. But still the best debut album of all time....

The best debut album of all time. Moves at a lightening fast pace with such standout songs as "Tattoed Love Boys" and the classic "Brass in Pocket." The one weak spot on the album is "Private Life" which is too long and slow for this record.

This album and the Talking Heads:77 are two of my favorites. Why is this album so good? Because it kicks ass consistently. Why? She IS precious. I''d love to see the lyrics, too. Maybe Kate Bush could do a couple of the obscure lyrics. I agree that Private Life is too slow, but it''s such a nice song (and after listening to Grace Jones do the cover, one has to laugh). 9/11/97
