Comments for Prince, Graffiti Bridge

Great! I think it's sad that such an album as this was so little covered with awards, chart succes and people's attention. It mixes the Prince's own rock/pop songs with the funky drive of all the New power generation. Question of U is a dream!!! Still would stand all time a hyperballad NPG a funky trip. Go Buy it. It's cheap now but still of the same quality!!!

This album in particular makes a great case for The Artist''s complaints about his corporate slaveholders, WB. The "Bridge" album failed only partly because of the failed movie of the same name. Mostly it failed because WB failed to effectively promote its most obvious hits. This LP got a great start when the first single "Thieves In The Temple" charted on the top 10, while simultaneously, The reunited Time were scoring with the biggest hit of their career, the Prince-penned "Jerk Out". Moronically, WB waited nearly a half-year to follow up that success with the movie''s release. Most of the album''s strongest songs were ignored and "Shake!", the greatest Time song ever, recieved so little promotion as a single, it never saw any success. Tevin Cambell''s "Round and Round", which recieved WB''s usual oblivious promotion, was suddenly picked up by the public and became a nice hit, but by that time, the movie was already nose-dived and was forgotten and it was too late. Ignore the system, and check out the forgotten gospel-epic "Still Would Stand All Time" and the bluesy "Crystal Ball" outake, "Joy In Repetition". Classics BURIED!
