Comments for Procol harum, HomeE-MAIL: ty@e-corp.com maybe tied with A Salty Dog as their best album. lyrically this is a very dark album (except the closer "your own choice"). musically "whiskey train" and "still there''ll be more" stand out and contrast with the lyrics, but "nothing that i didn''t know" and "barnyard story" are dark ballads. the highlights are the 3 musically powerful songs, "the dead man''s dream", "about to die", and "whaling stories". An above-average collection from an underrated band. Notable for Robin Trower`s guitar in "Whisky Train" which was the closest this band ever got to rock `n roll; the scary "Dead Man`s Dream" and the rare humor of "Your Own Choice." Not their best, but worth listening to, in the unlikely event that it`s available on CD.Comments supplied by users do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Roadkill Consulting, Inc. |
