Comments for Psychedelic Furs, The, B-Sides and Lost Grooves

Quite an eclectic piece of work; I too would have liked some of the older stuff included. I enjoy the electronic music on the first two tracks. The next two tracks, "Badman and "Birdland", are both good numbers, but I much prefer the production of the latter (with Stephen Street). Included is a really creepy version of "Mack the Knife", and for those of you who actually liked the "Midnight to Midnight" album, you can get even more of that stuff with tracks 11, 12, and 13. Rounding off the collection are two live versions; again, I prefer the latter - good version all around. In conclusion, a mixed bag, but one that I enjoy picking my way through.

The live version of "No Easy Street" is well worth wading through the muck of some of the Midnight to Midnight tracks.
Compilation of "live versions, b-sides, dance (re-mixes and promo tracks showcases the band at their absolute best" or so states the liner notes. Actually, that statement completely ignores the fact that the band produced two albums prior to 1981! On the plus side there is "Mack the Knife," "Badman," "Birdland," "I Don`t Want to Be Your Shadow" and "Aeroplane." On the downside there are such useless tracks as "Another Edge" (a disco instrumental), and some extended dance mixes off of the "Midnight to Midnight" album which you can`t really dance to. A mixed bag that should have included "Blacks/India" (from the UK version of their first LP) and the 7" version of "Mr. Jones." Why didn`t anyone think of including that?
