Comments for Queen, Made in heaven

Made In Heaven, released in November 1995, is Queen's final send-off. This album contains the final tracks recorded by the legendary Freddie Mercury, shortly before his untimely death. The album contains 11 listed songs. Of these songs, five have been released in different forms, while the remaining 6 are new to Queen fans. "Made In Heaven" and "I Was Born To Love You," tracks from Mercury's 1985 solo effort Mr. Bad Guy, have been given the Queen feel by surviving members John Deacon, Roger Taylor and Brian May. Songs such as "Too Much Love Will Kill You" and "Heaven for Everyone" were previously recorded by other members of Queen; the former by guitarist May and the latter by drummer Taylor's band, The Cross. "My Life Has Been Saved," a previous B-side from 1989, has been re-recorded by the three members of the band. The new songs from the album are nothing short of amazing. The album opens (and closes) with "It's A Beautiful Day," an uplifting song that is only the first example of Mercury's vocal power, even over the shadow of AIDS. The album continues with "Let Me Live," a wonderful gospel-esque song reminiscent of "Somebody to Love" with its choir effect, and "Mother Love," presumably one of the final tracks Mercury recorded, as May sings the last verse....almost as if Mercury could not. "You Don't Fool Me" is an upbeat track with wonderful chord progressions, and "A Winter's Tale" is Freddie's final masterpiece. The album finally closes (or does it....), leaving a wonderful legacy and giving a most appropriate send-off to the most wonderful showman in rock and roll. This album is HIGHLY recommended, and only leaves the listener with a truly uplifting feeling.
