Quicksand is one of the greatest examples of how a band matures. They feature members of old hardcore bands Burn, Shelter, Youth of Today, and Gorilla Biscuits. This album reflects their take on the more melodic noise of hardcore. It is one of the best albums I own and is highly recommended for people that are truly into hardcore and punk. Their new album "Manic Compression" comes out on 2/28/95 and is alot more hardcore, Gorilla Biscuits style. Walter Schreifels' singing voice is very unique and it really makes the album. The guitars are really noisy. Really cool. I can't really describe it. Therefore my comments sound stupid. Hear it for yourself.

I have had this album for 2 years now, and I still find it to be one of the best albums I own. I just can't believe nobody has heard of them. If you ask me, they deserve alot more attention than what they get.

The best post-hardcore record made by any group to date. The guitarwork is rich and mesmerising. The lyrics make just as much of an imact too. Words really can''t describe how majestic this 40 minute work is. Take one listen and let the songs sweep you away. The 12 pulverizing tracks that lie within are all you need to appreciate the sheer brilliance of Quicksand.
