Comments for Quicksand, Manic Compression

I don't know about the first track on this being mediocre, but I do know that the whol album kicks ass. Every song is perfect and their sound resembles touring mate Helmet. Definitely a good change of direction for Quicksand.

This album really could have boosted the band, in my opinion, but it didn't. I think that they took, or tried to take, on a style that they thought the people would like, instead of something they like to play, like Slip. After the first album, most bands looking for the big time change their music to fit the PEOPLE instead of the band. It was a pretty decent album, but slip still kicked a lot better.

This album blows my friggin' mind. When I first bought it, I didn't think it could really match up to Slip, and even after listening to it the first couple of times I felt basically the same way. But over the last year and a half the album has just continually grown on me. The more and more I listen to it, the greater my appreciation.

Not to slag Slip in any way,but Manic Compression has more urgency to it,is possessed of more memorable riffs, and maybe for its own good is less minimalist.'Brown Garagantuan' kicks...

This album definitely kicks ass! Period!
This album starts out with a mediocre track, but quickly picks up with Delusional, an incredible song. Other gems include Thorn in my side, Landmine spring, Brown Gargantuan, and Supergenius. Not a must-have, but certainly an album with some quality tunes.
