Comments for Ride, Going Blank Again

Ride have two styles: boring indie pop and totally awesome wall-of-guitar-noise. Examples of the horrible indie pop style are "Twisterella" and "Making Judy Smile". Stand-out tracks on this are "Leave Them All Behind" and "Cool Your Boots". This is the last album where Ride were any good, their new stuff is retrograde dross.

This is brilliance. Time Machine, OX4, Twisterella, Cool Your Boots, Chrome Waves are all top notch songs. I heard Carnival of Light before I heard this. I haven't listened to it again since.

I got this after nowhere and was blown away by tracks like "Leave them all behind", "time machine", and "chrome waves" this is a must have for people who are into the group. the EPs are worth checking out too (twisterella EP especially) this is the last really good ride album :)

This album is a must-buy simply for the fantastic "Leave Them All Behind" which is the highlight of all Ride's efforts; a brilliant tune combines with layers of screaming guitars, ethereal vocals and chiming keyboard to produce an epic 'wall of sound'. The rest of GBA cannot live up to this but songs such as "Twisterella","Not Fazed","Mouse Trap" and "OX4" have simple, catchy tunes with the intense Ride guitar sound. The guitars sound tighter and cleaner than on Ride's earlier work.

By far the strongest album Ride ever made. Andy Bell began to demonstrate that his songwriting skills were superior to Mark Gardener's, and songs like Chrome Waves, Cool Your Boots, Time Of Her Time support this. Unfortunately for Ride newcomers, it's too late to catch this tour - it was the best show I have ever seen. However, you can still make a great acquisition and BUY THIS CD. It is far better than current garbage from England (i.e. Oasis).

Simply the best album I have ever heard. Ox4 and Twisterella leave me open mouthed and breathless. A work of pure genius which Ride couldn''t surpass.
Follow up to "Nowhere" album which got airplay on "mersh"alternative radio stations. Music is in the British-retro-psychadellic vein of Stone Roses, Charlatans UK, CatherineWheel and so on.
