Comments for Roach, Steve, The Magnificent Void

Abandoning the techno/tribal influence from his albums of recent years past, Roach takes an almost all-synth approach and delves the listener into the terrain of unconsciousness - known as the Void...and beyond. Very DARK ambient & full of haunting images. Definitely one of Roach's best works ever!

A true masterwork of atmospheric music which will serve as a benchmark for future artists/composers in the electronic field. Even more so than on previous solo albums like Dreamtime Return and Origins, Roach has perhaps come closer than ever to perfecting an approach to ambient music that is simultaneously relaxing, engaging, and often unsettling. Those who see Structures From Silence and Quiet Music as his best "non-rhythmic" works should seriously consider checking this one out. TMV is something which should appear on anyone''s top ten list of ambient recordings of the decade.
