Comments for Roach, Steve, Now-Traveler

This is probably his most underrated work, and IMHO his best.

Of all of Steve Roach`s albums, "Now/Traveler" most resembles that of "Empetus"... there is a techno/spacerock-ish feel to the music, but not without the subtleties which would soon become prominent in his later works. This is VERY early Steve Roach at a time when his musical creativity was heavily influenced by European electronic musicians, most notably Klaus Schulze and Tangerine Dream. The material on this album was originally recorded between 1979 and 1983, and initially released on two separate discs- tracks 1-5 as "Now" (1982, Soundquest Music), and tracks 6-14 as "Travler" (1983, Fortuna One Music).
