Comments for Baker, Anita, Compositions

i think 'compositions' is one of anita's most satisfying recordings. although i enjoy 'rhythm of love' very much, i am somewhat tired of the sleek and polished sound which lacks the spontaneity and 'live'ness of 'compositions.' i would like to hear anita record more smoky-filled loungeroom jazz songs such as "love you to the letter" from 'compositions' and "sometimes i wonder why" from 'rhythm of love." also, i want to say that anita sounds great in concert - i saw her two summers ago at new jersey's (then) garden state parkway arena (or something...). any info on what anita is up to currently? is she recoding anything new? .

I think this is the best-recorded tape right today! it came out in 1990 but i listen too it everyday!. Thanks Anita Baker for the great tape!!By the way i met u at Ray ''Boom Boom''Mancini''s fight with Hector Camacho. i also took a picture with u i still have right today..:)
This was her last album until her 1994 release of "Rhythm ofLove". Anita was the executive producer on this Grammy Award winning album which while not as commercially successful as"Rapture" or "Giving You The Best That I Got", truly displayssher talent not only as a vocalist, but as a songwriter andproducer as well. The album definitely lacks the smoothcommercial sound of its predecessors as well, with a verybluesy, soulful sound, making it seem much more personal andintimate of an album. It was a great way for her to makeher temporary exit from the recording world while she spentmore time with her family, until the long awaited releaseof "Rhythm of Love"
