i listened to THE SONGSTRESS after anita''s second and third albums. i am very impressed with the fact that even in 1983 she already had that distinctive vocal style. as far as i''m concerned, her vocal work in this debut album is highly superior and in some ways, unrivalled by her later recodings in terms of range (listen to ''no more tears'') and technique (''you''re the best thing yet''). . .

THIS IS ANITA`S FIRST ALBUM AND IS CONSIDERED TO BE ONE OF HER BEST.
