Comments for Rush, Fly By Night

** This is the album where the greatest drummer of all time makes his appearance. They get a lot better though after this album. PRIME CUTS-- "Fly by Night", "Anthem", and "in the End". --J. Teel

This album stinks. By-Tor and the Snowdog indeed! What tripe!

Bytor and the Snowdog is an incredible song (but only if you have an ear for decent music!)

i think i discovered an error. wasn't this album released in 1975? it would be ludicrous to conclude that rush's second album came out in 1981! neil peart's contribution was instantly recognized. so much innovation and superb lyricism. then again, even barney could have invented better lyrics than geddy lee (no offense, ged, you still rock the bass)!

Rush makes a lot of progress in their second album, Fly By Night (released February 1975, NOT 1981). After the departure of John Rutsey, and the addition of Neil Peart, the band was ready to take on the world. Such songs as "Anthem", "Fly By Night", and "In the End" really defined Rush's sound for the next few albums. "By-Tor and the Snowdog" was the band's first attempt at a long "epic" song. These songs became a Rush tradition, which lived on through their next three albums as well. Whoever awarded Rush the Juno for their first album, must have forseen this and later albums.

Overall, an improvement over "Rush!" It contains one superb song-"Fly By Night!" The rest of the album is ok, but the addition of "Neil Peart" for the lyrics is a vast improvement over the debut album! Overall, a 6/10 for this cd!
