Comments for Rush, Roll The Bones

*** (using the same 5 star scale as before)-- Whoops!! I accidentally reviewed the single version instead of the album entry. Anyways, this album followups the more straight forward guitar/bass/drums approach of the previous effort. PRIMECUTS: "Dreamline","Bravado",the title cut,"Where's My Thing", and "Ghost of a Chance".--J.Teel

If you don't mind the synthesizers and effects, this is an eminently listenable album: intelligent, lyrical, and unique.

My third favorite Rush cd and my 12th favorite overall. An absolutely magnificent cd! It contains so many masterpieces that it is difficult to name them all: "Dreamline," "The Big Wheel," "Heresy" and "Neurotica" are all great, but the most superb songs are "Bravado," "Roll The Bones," "You Bet Your Life," "Where's My Thing?" and "Ghost Of A Chance!" In fact, "Roll The Bones" and "Ghost Of A Chance" are two of Rush's greatest songs!!! Overall, a 9/10 for this cd; only "ESL" and "PoW" are better!!

This is my least favorite offering from Rush. The good news is that the worst Rush CD is better than most bands best CD. Anyway, what''s up with Mr. Peart''s lyrics on this one. It makes me feel like someone in the Rush camp may have a funny little gambling problem. Hine''s rap on "Roll the Bones" is pure hell. I cringe every time I hear it.
