Comments for Scruffy the Cat, Tiny Days

This album is a bit more raw and takes more chances than the Jim Dickinson-produce "Moons of Jupiter." Believe it or not, Stona Fitch's banjo puts songs that are already rave-ups over the top. I've always wondered why more bands don't try it (doesn't everybody love the last chorus of "Take It Easy" by the Eagles?). Tracks "My Baby She's Alright," "When Your Ship Comes In," and "Shadow Boy" highly recommended.

"I bought 'Tiny Days' on a whim in ninth grade. Disposable income, funny little name, you get the idea. Anyway, this album changed my life. From Scruffy the Cat is was on to the worlds of Alex Chilton, Nick Lowe and all the other decent honest Bands and artists putting out solid , unpretentious rock. But this is till my favourite of them.

A truely neglected classic from the late 80''s. This is by far the best work Scruffy recorded, and they followed it up with massive touring. Having seen the band on three occasions, I recall them as being one of the best live acts at the time. Too bad they broke up. A question for anyone out there - is Tiny Days available on CD?

I remember hearing the raw opening chords of MyBabyShesAlright when I was 17 and thinking that this would be the start of a beautiful friendship. But at the live show, I thought My Fate Was Sealed with a Kiss was the real gem...
