Comments for Barenaked Ladies, The Barenaked Ladies EP

An interesting and funny, if somewhat limited, EP that became the largest selling indie release in Canadian history. Fun stuff, but it almost seems dated three years later. Still, a far better example of the diverse Canadian music scene than American rip-off acts like Bryan Adams.

This is one of the best CD's I have ever purchased. Their music represents the generation and while it was called dated by someone else I think that part of the charm is how it takes you back a bit. Don't think, find this CD and buy!

I've reviewed thousand of albums (see BAD ENGLISH), but this one has got me stumped. As much as I'd like to tear apart all of it's happy happy joy joy fun type songs... defecate on them and send them to whoever was responsible for this mockery of everything anyone in the business has stood for... I won't. They're Canadian, they're lame, but some people like them. Sure some people liked Meatloaf too but I don't want to talk about it. I.ve been drinking. The only COOL Ladie is Eddie. The rest are all losers. This means nothing though, because they except it and embrace it and just want to make people happy. So sure they're nerds. You know it, I know it but just let them be. They know they weren't very cool in life and now they are still trying to be good to other people. The money's good Too$$$$.

This EP disc is actually issued in the U.K., not Canada. The Canadian release was cassette only.

considering this was only a demo, and not originally intended for commercial release, I''d say this EP is amazing...but it doesn''t hold up against BNL''s later work...still the CD is pretty rare, so buy it if you find it...I have 2!!
