Comments for Sisters Of Mercy, Floodland

This CD is a must in any collection. Most songs stand on their own. Has anyone heard of a UK live release? I think it may have been bootlegged- not sure.

It's the coolest album in the world ! Mail if you don't think so !

This album is indeed very cool, although not as strong as their previous "First and Last and Always". Andrew's texts are still totally NOT understandable. There are a lot of keyboards on this album and Patricia Morrisson (The Gun Club) makes great guest appearances (Why the hell Andrew didn't you put her name in the Cd-booklet?). Great stuff, no more to say !!

Nice tunes Nice Lyrics Nicely Gothic, If you are a goth rocker, you should have at least some "Sisters" by now, if not, then either Floodland, or First and Last and Always are the introduction that is nessessary. And I mean neccessary. P.S. Email me Im bored!?!

Gloriously overblown, Floodland is a collection of hallucinatory observations attached to a dance beat and served up as post-Apocalyptic mood music. Eldritch will likely never top it, but most likely neither will anyone else in the genre. Prime moment of anguish and defiance: "I've got nothin' to say I ain't said before/I've bled all I can I won't bleed no more."

This album is definitely one of my most played, though I found it more uneven than most of the other comments I read. Still, tracks like "Dominion/Mother Russia" and "This Corrosion" alone are worth the price of the album, and there are other classic songs to round off the ticket here.

I listened to this album for 2 years, at least once a week. It's one of the best albums in my collection. "I don't go there never I hear their song Fuck me and marry me young" If you know of any other album with the same style, please tell me!

this is a good album, but if you want to listen to the sisters at their best try the first singles and first and last and always. this was the time when they were a band and eldritch wasnt trying to be a one man band

I think this is one of the top rock albums in _any_ genre. (I wore out three tapes of it before I bought a CD, and now I'm on my second CD copy!) AFAIC, this album will still be played a hundred years from now. A must for any serious rock collector.
