Comments for Sky Cries Mary, This Timeless Turning

This band is being slotted into a new music media-defined genre called "Space". Other bands they include in this genre include Hawkwind(!), Kraftwerk, Pressurehed and Ozric Tentacles. Stand-out tracks on this album are "Don't Forget The Sky" and "Scapegoat".

This album reminds me of a more modern version of my father''s old progressive rock records. Sky Cries Mary has taken progressive rock and modified it, adding elements of ambient dance and more up-to-date synth sounds. Still, if you''re interested in progressive rock or if you just have a basic desire to hear music that is somewhat different from what gets played on the radio, check this album out. The vocals and lyrics are strong, and the musicianship is top-notch.
