This is one great album. Not a weak track in the bunch. Catch these guys live if you can. They're the only band I've seen that sound even better live than they do recorded.

albums so good,i named myself after it.like every one else says=power pop.the guitars just smack you arround.so much energy.i always considerd them the hard rock beatles.if u ever buy a smithers cd-this is it "god bless the smitherreens" and defintly see them live,especialy in a club. and remember,they are loud
Pat DiNizio and the Smithereens abandon any pretensions ofclean pop songs and turn up the Marshall stacks on thisalbum. The great songwriting and hooks are still there, butthe album is hard in both sound and emotion. The change ofproducers (from Don Dixon to Ed Stasium) is evident.
