This album was originally called "Blowjob" but Geffen told Sonic Youth they had to change the title before printing.

What an amazing album. Probably my favorite Sonic Youth album so far because you can listen to the whole thing without getting bored. Almost every song is catchy, but is still experimental at the same time. Standout tracks include "Tunic", "Disappearer", and the singles "Dirty Boots" and "Kool Thing".
In light of their recent work`s direction (on Dirty then Jet Set ...) this represents the peak of their skills. The song structures permit some nice soundscapes that aren`t toodrawn out or boring. Only a couple of songs are forgettable(`Disappearer`, the not-short-enough `Mildred Pierce` and the `Scooter + Jinx` Go-Kart race). Kim Gordon shines (instrumentally AND vocally). Not anyone can visualize Karen Carpenter in the afterlife (`Tunic`) and prove Chuck D (cameo in `Kool Thing` or `Cool Thing` [depending on what part of the CD you read]) really does have a sense of humor.
