Comments for Springsteen, Bruce, NebraskaE-MAIL: gfisher@shore.net An interesting and haunting version of Bruce's "Mansion on the Hill" can be found on Emmylou Harris' At The Ryman album.E-MAIL: expnet@ix.netcom.com This album is not underrated by anyone who knows Springsteen. Try driving down the Garden State Parkway at 3:00AM with or without your license and registration, and you will know what I'm talking about. Atlantic City is one of Bruce's greatest songs, along with Highway Patrolman and State Trooper. It's not the rock style of Born In the USA, Born To Run or Darkness, it's different, and I like it. This album cuts a scar across the landscape of America. Brilliant!E-MAIL: k.p.middel@let.rug.nl Trying to put into words what this album is like would be impossible. Buy it, listen to it and judge for yourself. If anything it is the album that means more to me than any other piece of music. This haunting acoustic album is probably Springsteen`s most underrated. It is a collection of stories and tales portraying the dark void that humanity can become. A moving album.Comments supplied by users do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Roadkill Consulting, Inc. |
