Comments for Stone Temple Pilots, Tiny Music...Songs from the Vatican Gift Shop

well, on the good side, the hard songs are fun and rock....the problem is that there is a noticeable abundance of filler on this one, which isn't always bad, but in this case the filler tunes are really, really, mediocore....dean is given two minutes to indulge us in as instrumental but it just sounds dull.....however, overall it's still a good record, and so much better than the new alice in chains album.
E-MAIL: STPRULES@AOL.COM
The New Album Rules!,I love The songs "Lady Picture Show" and " And So I Know" the album is much more catchy and mellow than their first 2 albums!
E-MAIL: s325961@student.uq.edu.au
I've listened to this record twice in record stores, and I don't think it is as good as it is cracked up to be. a lot of the songs don't sound very inventive at all, and the ferocity of songs like dead and bloated is completely missing. quite a few of the songs just seem to be repeated riffs that don't go anywhere, and don't have very cool vocals to fall back on. weiland didn't seem to have his' head in this album (was he thinking about a magnificent bastards record instead?), and doesn't really seem to reach any of the heights of core or purple. all in all, a bit of a dud.
E-MAIL: jimevans@cris.com
I don't know what Scott was thinking with this 180 degree turn he took from powerful Alternative to light, pop like, rock with this new album. The band is talented: what they do, they do good, but I no longer like what they're doing. "Big Bang Baby" is reminiscent of the 70's/80's, and what's up with that video? "And So I know" reminds me of ball-room music . Most the songs are mediocre, with only a few catchy ones ("Trippin....," and "Adhesive"). Does anyone else feel like STP has abondoned us fans?
E-MAIL: jnlcook@earthlink.net
At first listen the album is generally disappointing, if your looking for the usual STP sound. But after a while it grows on you. I think "Press Play" is the perfect tune to load on your computer to play when you start Windows. "Big Bang Baby" and "Paper Heart" are standard STP stuff. I love "Art School Girl" and "Ride the Cliche" but the best kick ass tune on the album is "Tumble in the Rough". I can't believe so many people like "Lady Picture Show". It sounds like a McCartney tune, and to me, that means it's not very good. It may lack the power of the first two albums, but it's not the worst album your ever gonna hear.

Tiny Music.........is without a doubt there most amazing piece of work and the boys have completely outdone themselves! Enough with the angst shit! STP has finally taken a turn into new musical realms! Art school girlfriend is hot, spicy and instantly offensive all at the same time! And so I know is so different from all their other stuff I mellowed into a ball of Kashmir! A very daring record with impressive results! It certainly helps if you're a fan of 60's muzac! Nostalgia freaks won't be dissapointed! Finally a group wich breaks away from all the bullshit music that's currently being played on planet FM
E-MAIL: docjim@citynet.net
"Fans" of STP who lament that their latest effort is abandonment and betrayal because it doesn't have the same sound and/or message have obviously missed the point. Awful and mediocre groups put out the same sounding, written-by-rote, please-the-masses/critics music CD after CD (or album after album if born before 1980). The beauty of every CD produced by STP is that they are each quite different and musically entertaining not just "More Music to Bang Your Head To". Let's hope Weiland can keep himself clean enough to at last keep himself alive and keep this band together.

I´m from Spain and I think "Tiny Music..."isn´t as good as "CORE" or "Purple" but I like it. But they owe follow the way of "purple" better. The new Alice in Chains album is "de puta madre"(in spanish), it´s to say, fucking great... They have changed a little their way too but don´t mind, they are the best
E-MAIL: dkchrist@jmu.edu
I can't believe most of you people. Why do you want a band to put out records that all sound the same? Tiny Music is a welcome change from Core and Purple, as well as most music today. It may be the most innovative work of the 90's.
E-MAIL: @
Stone temple Pilots are the dopest band today, although Trippin On A Hole In A Paper Heart is short it is also one of the premiere songs today, I rate this album a 9. I also look forward to new albums and songs from this totally dope band, Thank you all. Bush sucks dick.

Stone Temple pilots are not getting the recognition they deserve, they are cool and that's that, now on the other hand, Bush is shitty, along with Nirvana.
E-MAIL: cran0053@maroon.tc.umn.edu
To all those people bitching about how Tiny Music is so different from Core and Purple, shut up. Tiny Music is an interesting change in sound for STP. Do you want STP to play the same stuff over and over, they'll turn into a band like ZZTop. My advice is to listen to it more. I guarantee that if your mind is the least bit open, the album will grow on you. You gotta love Adhesive! Peace!
E-MAIL: sykes777@juno.com
This album is full of rich tasting mystery and repetitive harmony. I am a singer and I fully enjoy singing along with Scott on every song.
E-MAIL: HLMD776306
Hey any album from Stp is a good thing. And if you don't aree then what the hell ru doing reading this page. This album is a turn for the best and with Weiland back and them going back on tour, every thing is to be alright. And for u real Weiland fans don't forget to pick up the Magnifisent Bastard's album. Coming to a store near u!
E-MAIL: Chuka

i am so glad that they came out with tiny music. i love the songs trippin.., big bang baby and lady picture show. they have been my favorite band for about 5 years now, and two weeks ago, they put on a hell of a show at the palace of auburn hills, in pontiac, MI. it was the best concert that i had ever been to.
E-MAIL: sfmxnptp@scfn.thpl.lib.fl.us
S.T.P.'s "Tiny Music... Songs from the Vatican Gift Shop" is (I think) their best work yet. It goes from fast songs like: "Tumple in the Rough," "BiG bAnG bAbY," & "Trippin' On a Hole in a Paper Heart" to slower songs like: "Lady Picture Show" & "And So I Know." If you don't have this CD yet and are wondering if it is the one for you (you MUST like S.T.P.), take my word for it and Buy it. -Austin

I think that this album is pretty good. the songs have a different sound than purple and core but i still rocks. If you dont like the new album stop listening to it and quit your bitching about how it sounds. Finally Nirvana was the greatest band to ever live.
E-MAIL: Redstone13@AOL.com
One word. Different. When i heard the CD i thought it was a different band I hope there next album is more like core. By the way does anyone know when there next album will come out?
E-MAIL: STPcrazy@AOL>COM
STP is the best Weiland rules and 7 caged tigerss is awesome
E-MAIL: champ@vianet.net.au
When I first listened to "Tiny Music" I thought it sounded a bit pussy, but being the avid fan I am I listened to songs other than tracks 3,4,5 and 7 and found them to be really different- which led me to listen to them more and more and now I think of "Tiny Music" as good as "Core" and "Purple". I won't go so far as to say one is better than the other, but one thing I will say is that the changes they are making are definitely progressive, which I hope will make the band that is most influential to my life, the number 1 band in the world....keep together boys.

THIS CD KICKS IT WIDE!THE BOX !THEBOX

Tiny Music is unlike it's sister album Purple. STP is a great band always experimenting with different kinds of sound, which make them better than SHIT alternative bands like Bush, who are in it for the fame. Tiny Music ranges from songs that have a mellow rythm like "And So I Know," to songs that rock like "Pop's Love Suicide." My personal favorite from the album is Seven Caged Tigers." Tiny Music also has great lyrics and if you get a chance PLEASE go see STP live!!Well worth beyond $23.00!!!!!
E-MAIL: rudder@jhu.edu
This album is an excellent work, the best yet by the band. They realize that being stagnant in your genre is a bad thing today, adn they changed a little bit, but it is a good change. Now Metallica on the other hand made a change for the worst with 'Load'. Dean does have catchy songwriting down to a science on this album. songs like 'Art school girlfriend' show his trademark '5th to depressed 5th' chord progression that is catchy no matter what the situaion. And as always Robert keeps the bass very interesting and even outstanding in 'And so I know'. Scott, you have to come home now! We want another STP record, but most importantly we want you SAFE and off the smack.
E-MAIL: coon0019@metnet.edu
Everyone who thinks this album sucks is the biggest piece of wussy shit I have ever seen. This album kicks the crap out of almost anything else. Sure, there are a few slow songs, but they are good. There were slow songs before like "Creep", "Plush", "Big Empty", and so on, but those albums don't suck, do they?(NO!!) If they were going to make an album that sounded exactly like their previous albums, they would sound like the Pumpkins or something, which is very bad. This Album rips through tracks like "BBB", "Pop's Love Suicide", "Trippin", and "Seven Caged Tigers", yet it still comes back with the softer dominant tracks like "And so I Know", "Adhesive", and "Lady Picture Show. People who are cutting this album down are either jumping on a bandwagon, or are high on crack. It is obvious they haven't sat sown and given it a good listen through several, several times. All I have to say is that this album rules and will always be one of the best ever. If you disagree, E-mail me with your opinion.

The Stone Temple Pilots are definitly one of the best bands around. They need to schedule more Toronto tour dates.
E-MAIL: lymm1@aol.com
I think this is the greatest band on earth, the album rules and is my fave. Also, Scott is hot.
E-MAIL: hendrix@chula.net
Nothing compared to the almighty Hendrix you pussies. Stop whining about the Stone TEmple pilots. Shut up because Hendrix is the best. Jimi is the REAL KING OF ROCK AND ROLL.

This album is strange...strange is good...it has a unique sound that no other band could imitate...It has a mellower sound...I think that the next album, STP will crank it up and put all of us on our asses...If you are a fraudulent STP fan, you won't like this album..If you appreciate good music or you can relate to STP, the new techniques used will make this album worth your while
E-MAIL: aero-tyler@.comkiss your past goodbye
STP is one of the kewlest bands out there next to Aerosmith. I think this album rocks man. I love the song Adhesive and Trippin on a Hole... altoghether the song, lyrics, and album rule. I really hope they come to Omaha. STP and Aerosmith really make rock,ROCK. I can't wait to meet Scott Weiland. You guys just keep on rockin and make these great and unique albums.
E-MAIL: paris05a
when scotts probs go down the bands next album will rule, but tiny music was the best tumble in a ruff has awesome guitar chords
E-MAIL: godfathr@mail.iamerica.net
I can't believe some of you. As a musician, I can totally understand why they went this way. Everyone says 'it's not the same as Core and Purple', but then again, Purple wasn't the same as Core. In an age where Change has destroyed most bands (PearlJam) because the change really sucked, STP (and also AIC and Soundgarden) have abandoned 'the same old thing' to move on to bigger and better things. Tiny music rocks as much as the other two, but in a different way. Pop's Love Suicide, Adhesive, Trippin on a Hole in a paper Heart, Big Bang Baby, and Especially Seven caged tigers are all totally awesome songs. Look at it this way...they changed, but the list I just gave says that the music is good, no, great. Look at what else we got this year: No Code. What good songs did it give us? I cant name one except for maybe Lukin (which is one and a half minutes long). So much for the myth that STP is a PJ copycat. Anyway, I saw STP in concert in November (in Dallas), and I can assure you that they still know how to do what they do so well: Rock.

Je pense que le nouvel album est très bon, même s'il est différent des deux autres.J'adore des chansons comme Big Bang Baby,Pop's Love Suicide et Tumble in the rough.
E-MAIL: icampbell@clara.net
hmmmmm. this album ain't bad.... it doesn't stick out very much, but it does make a nice change every now and then. And it doesn't suck poo through an old tramps news paper.
E-MAIL: yeah@right.com
great album, expecially SEVEN CAGED TIGERS. Though, its not great if your looking for the classic alternative stp style. I guess the time in the Betty Ford Center changed them alot.
E-MAIL: zodinator@aol.com
Stone Temple Pilots fuckin rock...I say them in concert at the Irvine Amp and they did an acoustic set in the middle that would blow your mind...The stone is dank and compared to almost all the bands today they are true musicians.
E-MAIL: kevins@resultsgroup.com
This is the best cd I ever listened to. When it started all I could do was rock out! It was the bome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
E-MAIL: kristi.mccann@avnet
Saw the band in Phoenix after purchasing the disc 5 months earlier. Show-awesome, better than I ever expected, great to meet Scott afterward. Disc-also great, love it, one of my favorites!!!
E-MAIL: ORodrig589
STP cd is better (Tiny Music) than Bush's Razorblade Suitcase.
E-MAIL: plabonte@freenet.ab.ca
First off, this album is one of best I've ever heard. It has most range and push musically. Weilands can angstful and negative (which is cool) without having to scream his lungs out. All the shit we've heard by most other bands is like Nirvana heavy guitar distortion crap. Not Nirvana isn't cool, its just the point is being lost 6 years after the fact. Pilots have created an album that is a vista to all music forms. Thank god for originality, thank god for STP.
E-MAIL: dave@learnit.com
STP kicks major Ass. They fuck up all other groups
E-MAIL: SICKDOGG15@HOTMAIL.COM
As an STP fan I give this album a 10 because it sounds good and shows how diverse the band is.
E-MAIL: barteltm@pilot.msu.edu
How dare anyone compare anything by STP to a shitty album like "Razorblade Suitcase!" That was the biggest dud in history.
E-MAIL: Carlos@jackal.putz.com
Tiny Music has the rhythm going. It may not be a carbon copy of purple, but it has the diversity that make it credible. In other words, if you expected another purple album, wake up and smell the shit. You didn't get one, but what you got is another fine example of STP. Purple rules and so do all the other albums including this one. If you don't like it, go to the vatican and fuck the pope...for all anyone cares.
E-MAIL: cyrax5@hotmail.com
This album is a change from there old work. But it is a good change.Big Bang Baby,Lady Picture Show, and Trippen On A Hole In A Paper Heart are the best songs on the album.I love this album. If you like the Stone Temple Pilots you need to get this album.
E-MAIL: coolville@iwaynet.net

This is a great album to sit around, smoke a little wacky smoke, and listen to. Let's just hope Scott is around long enough to cut another one and tour it.
E-MAIL: Kevin@aol.com
STP ROCKS.
E-MAIL: oil@lennonghost.com
This album fucking rocks, man. I don't have it yet, but I've heard most of the songs off it, and to compare STP to a bunch of faggots like Bush is unforgivable, those who did so don't know shit about music.
E-MAIL: LesPaul@byglie.com
I gave Dean his first guitar.
E-MAIL: lady liz
i was really thrown when i first heard this album. it took some getting used to, but now i see it for the album it really is. A GREAT ONE!
E-MAIL: HTTP://WWW.SILVIORASEC@HOTMAIL.COM.BR
THESE GUYS ARE TOO MUCH CRAZY WHEN THEY SOLVE TO MAKE ROCK THERE'S NO DUST IN THE FINAL AND THIS ALBUM SHOWS IT. FUCKING!! WE"RE WAITING THEM HERE IN BRASIL .
E-MAIL: durablend@juno.com
STP has +done some great stuff in their time and Tiny Music... is one of their best. However, it lacks too much of their original sound. More songs should have been done like Tripping on a Hole... As for anyone comparing STP to Bush, Bush is a completely different sound than STP. That's all I have to say and look Mommy, I did it as nice as I could!!!
E-MAIL: Kruger@guam.com
Lady Liz you wouldn't know good music if it hit you in your fucking head. Wake up you slut! If it takes you time to get used to an STP album, you'd be better off listening to Barry Mannilo!
E-MAIL: Lady Liz
hey asshole, you don't know a fucking thing about me or what i thought when i heard this album! for all you know, i could have been adjusting to a new level of amazement that the pilots have brought me to with their versatility and talent. you don't know a fucking thing! next time, jerkoff, try thinking a little before you put your filthy hands on the keyboard! ASSHOLE!!!!!!!!!
E-MAIL: Tyson@furcs.eda.com
Stop fighting over stupid fucking things. If you're a STP follower, then you're all in the same league. However, if you fuck with me or any STP fans, i'll hunt you down and fuck you dead. My 9mm Glock 17 doesn't discriminate, nor do I for that matter. If your going to argue over stupid fucking things, fuck off or meet your fate.
E-MAIL: MMcgill@juno.com
This was the first album that I actually liked of STP's and ever since I've become a very big STP and I can't get enough of them. I feel this album, while not the most mainstream friendly, is their best work to date...And maybe the last!?!?!
E-MAIL: The Daemon
Bush wasn't bad, but when razorblade suitcase came out they sucked dick. they are no match for STP. My fave song was trippin' on a hole in a paper heart
E-MAIL: FOGELone@clarityconnect.com
This album is the best! In my opinion "Seven Caged Tigers" is the best song. Alot of people think that this album isn't that good, but just because it is different it doesn't mean that it sucks. I think that it is the BEST album and I think everyone should at least give it a chance. STP is great and they always will be! -KATIE
E-MAIL: fpimenta@uol.com.br
That albun enter in my own TOP 5. Since PRESS PLAY til SEVEN CAGED TIGERS, I just can't stop hear it. If you like to hear a great rock band albun, that's here! GOD BLESS THE STONE TEMPLE PILOTS. (frederico from Brazil)
E-MAIL: cleau@isu.com
E-MAIL: cleau@isu.com
this album is awesome gotta give it to the boys for changing their style. Just think if they didn't change the formula, all the albums would stay the same. If the band can stay together (Weiland off the good drugs) than I think that they will be classified as one of the top ten rock-n-roll bands of all time
E-MAIL: STPMotoOil@AOL.com
STP rocks. They are my favorite band by far. Purple was better than this, but Timy Music is still an awesome album. Too bad STP is breaking up because of Weiland's heroin addiction.
E-MAIL: Nobletucky@AOL.com
Did anyone else hear that beeping noise at the 1:30 mark of "Seven Caged Tigers" ?
E-MAIL: mthw1618
this album is the bomb. i liked it goobye
E-MAIL: skacore965@aol.com
what's wrong with a lot of STP fans? why does it seem that if every album a band puts out isn't their last album with a new name it MUST suck? although this album is NOTHING like purple (which was very little like Core) i still like it. you just have to listen to it with an open mind.
E-MAIL: dompan@garlic.com
The only thing that I can say is "HOLY SHIT"!!!! This album is with out a doubt STP's best and puts them in a catogorey all of their own. It's nice to see a band break away from the mainstreem crap flooding the marketplace nowadays and come up with something truly original and inventive. Who gives a crap if this album doesn't make you wanna hurl your body into hard objects in a head banging frenzy. It's got some unbelievably catchy and melodic tunes along with some great solos and riffs. I loved Art School Girl and Trippin' because they've got great beats and some really catchy guitar riffs. Adhesive and Seven Caged Tigers were incredible too because they give you the sensation of just drifting along on a cloud and they make you forget about all of the shit you have to deal with in this world. I just wish that Scott would get off that shit, but hey, maybe that's why the music's so good. STP RULE!!!!!!!!!!
E-MAIL: dr jamar@aol.com
this cd f*ckin' sucks
E-MAIL: thing@aol.com
this cd rules the world
If you were expecting the same thing as `Purple` you may be disappointed. This album goes in very differentdirections. "Big Bang Baby" is a wild ride and "LadyPicture Show" is a fantastic balladlike song, none ofthese songs will be mistaken for their previous work!Check it out!
