Comments for Stranglers, The, Rattus Norvegicus

Is anyone out there making Stranglers-influenced music besides myself? (My NYC-based band, called Furniture, features a distorted bass-dominated sound with keyboards and sparse guitar, though the vocal style is not at all Cornwellian.) Email me at Jon_Steele@gbinc.com

This is the first Stranglers album, recorded in 1977 at the same time that the second album No More Heroes, published this same year. Is a masterpiece of the 70´s rock music.

the stranglers are a very good group and are always under rated by the press all the albums are very good and do deserve a listen then you can make your own mind up!!
This is, I believe, the first Stranglers LP. There may be some confusion about the title of this album. On the spine it says ³The Stranglers ‹ IV (Rattus Norvegicus)² but then the title ³IV² was used for the compilation of ³Raven² tracks and theretofore unreleased singles released in the U.S. in the early eighties.
