A very commercial sounding album with lots of catchy songs but still enough substance to make for cerebral listening. The clarinet, sax. & harmonica parts feature nicely, giving a kind of dated, almost big band feel. Davies and Hodgson belt away on electric pianos in a way that anticipates the future sequencing of synthesisers. The contrast between these two songwriters' songs and vocals works well. Hodgson's acoustic guitar is absent but he does one nice bit of electric lead. "The Logical Song" remains a classic, Ian Thomas.
