Comments for Supertramp, Crime Of The Century

E-MAIL: ddeslandes@andrew.sca.usherb.ca
This is the first Supertramp album that had a certain success in the music scene. After two albums that didn't do well in term of commercial success, they searched for new musicians to complete their lineup. That's where Doughie Thomson, John Helliwell and Bob C. Benberg came up to form what would become the best musical group I have ever heard. Daniel Deslandes, ddeslandes@andew.sca.usherb.ca

The first Supertramp album with the formation that would give the band most of it's success is certainly the most dramatic. Rick Davies' harmonica opening on the first track lays the foundation for a grand album with music and lyrics on a grand scale. One of the best Supertramp albums. Highlights include, "School", "Dreamer", "Hide in Your Shell", and the title track.

My favourite album ever. School, BWR, Hide and Rudy are unsurpassed. Asylum and IEWL are brilliant.

Superb album, very difficult to follow up given the quality of material and production. Still sounds great even after 16 years. They don't make music like this nowadays!!!!
