Comments for Beachboys, The, Summer in Paradise

Great album, but sounds, how should I say it, a bit "stiff"/ mechanic - not really the "Warmth of the sun"-style. And why that mad drumming - it gives me headaches. Especially on Bruce's ballads (the same on the 1985 album "The Beach Boys"). Bruce deserves better! The follow-up to "Kokomo", "Island girl", is great though. Why wasn't that a bigger hit? "Hot fun..." is fabulous! "Remember..." - strange choice, I always thought that song was a weird one. However, half of the song has a catchy style, but the "remember..." parts, well, they give me the creeps, but that is my problem, right? The Beach Boys can do better than that. Now, why wasn't Al's "Lookin' down the coast..." released? Bonsal? Where is that? THe Beach Boys and Brian together again - impossible? The recent CD-box was a smash! Thanks a lot boys!!!!!!! The "new" version of "Wind chimes": a KNOCK-OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bye for now! (Who reads this?)

Summer in Paradise is nothing more than a Mile Love bastardize version of the remaining Beach Boys imitating Brian Wilson''s Beach Boys. Mike Love proves once again that he does not have a creative bone in his body. His "Surfin" remake shows no respect for Brian Wilson. It is another lame attempt for Mike to go back to his past, rather then create new music. Summer in Paradise does, however, show off the awesome vocal talents of Carl Wilson. Gee, if Brian and Carl could just get together for just one album. What a treat that would be.
CD Packaged in the new "Ecco Pack" container (Less Plastic)Some new songs for the Beachboys as well as some remakes originally done by others. Great sounding upbeat album produced by Terry Melcher.
