Comments for Beastie Boys, Licensed to Ill

This album shouldn't be forgotten due to the mainstream transition of the Beastie's. Rhymin and stealin, beer drinkin', breath stinkin', sniffin' glue- this is the Beastie Boys I'll remember and listen to. "The New Style" Beastie Boys just doesn't do much for me.

Classic Beasties, great album, different, but not better or worse than the new stuff, just different

SHIT. Shit is shit, no matter what volume you hear it at. How any one can call this a sample of Beasties "before they went mainstream" is beyond me. This is purely a capitalization on the novelty of white boys rapping (-*almost* as bad as House of Pain... but not quite that bad). The follow-up to this (Paul's Boutique) was the first one that actually showed that these guys do, in fact, have TALENT. To me, this album screams of a band that just got signed, and went along with whatever the record company bigwigs told them to do. Songs like Fight for your Right (to Party) are total fluff! Ignore this stage of the Beastie's evolution. Sweep it under the carpet. Pretend it never happened. DON'T, I REPEAT, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!

What the hell are you guys complaining about? The beastie boys are the only band that has a very unique style. This album was the beggining of a new beastie boys era. You guys should not be complaining about this cool guys they are music performers as its finest. Listen to whatever you want but don't make stupid comments about such great musicians. please!!

Don't listen to that freak that went on about how this sucked. Girls kicks ass and brass monkey is pretty good, too. If you've never heard it before, Girls is not what you would expect but trust me it kicks ass.

The Beastie Boys are the best no matter what any one says
This was the album that really put the Beastie Boys on the map. This album helped bring rap into the mainstream. It is a must have for anyone who enjoys music. Even if you don`t like rap you will probably like this album.
