Comments for Beatles, The, Please Please Me

E-MAIL: Rebecca_Garza.@baylor.edu
Even though I wasn't born in the Beatles' era, I still think they were one of the best bands ever. I like every album, but this song contains Love Me Do which is my favorite song.

Has there ever been a more powerful, or earth-shaking, debut album in rock history? Only the Stone Roses might be able to compete in that regard. Great rock...that hints at huge potential.

Great first album. You can notice John's voice in almost every song, but Paul's voice is so clear and perfect in "A taste of honey", it makes you wonder why isn't he the leader. My favorite song here is "Do you want to know a secret" followed by "Please please me".

The Beatles Rock!!! They are without question the best band every. The song on this album that turns my crank is "I saw her standing there". A powerful rock song. The heavy drumming by Ringo and the bouncy bass lines by Paul make the song complete. I wasn't born when the Beatles were big but I can only imagine the craze that the Beatles started.

This L.P. captures the the energy and spirit of early 1963 and is absolutely sensational considering that ten of the songs were recorded in one day.Twist and Shout is one of The Beatles best rockers and was done in one magnificent take.Helen Shapiro was nuts to have turned down Misery after John and Paul offered it to her.Although not as brilliant as Sgt. pepper or Abbey Road, Please Please Me is an outstanding piece of work. Long live the Fab Four !!!

I really love this album as well, but you have to admit some of the songs on this album are classics. What about "I Saw Her Standing There?" and, of course, "Twist and Shout" (the first Beatles tune I ever heard). My favourite song on the album has got to be "Anna (Go To Him)" and I have often wondered why that doesn't receive as much publicity/credit as it should. Comments???

Personally, I like "Twist And Shout" best on this album. John sings this SUBERB!!!!!

I think this album could have been done better. All the songs are cool with the exception of "Boys" The Beatles should have done something better.

This album is kind of uneven, but has a few great. "There's A Place" shows that John could write personable songs long before 1965. "Please Please Me" is affecting too.
E-MAIL: Heather
you forgot "i saw her standing there". that's a great song. much better than "there's a place".
E-MAIL: john.com
It's a great song too, but not better than "There's A Place."
E-MAIL: Heather
no, it's definitely much better.
E-MAIL: john.com
Yes, "There's A Place" is better. Very advanced. It showed that John could write personable songs back in 1962 - even before he knew who Bob Dylan was.
E-MAIL: Heather
i don't care what it shows!! "i saw her standing there" is better!!
E-MAIL: john.com
"I Saw Here Standing There" is sometimes played in hockey arenas during stoppages of play.

"a hard day's night" is sometimes played on Late Night with Conan O'Brien.

E-MAIL: Heather
conan's show comes on around 12:04 mdt. if you're pacific time, which i don't know...then it would be 11:04. it is the funniest show! even if john was yanking us around, it's still worth watching, you guys! john, are you jerking my chain??
E-MAIL: john.com
Nope. He's supposed to be on the TODAY show on 7/9 too. My favorite Beatles webpage (http://www.best.com/~abbeyrd/) has the information. Goto "New & Improved"
E-MAIL: john.com
Also, if any of you have cable channel WWOR (UPN) 9, "John Lennon: Imagine" is on Friday night (7/4) at 8PM (eastern standard time).
E-MAIL: Heather

E-MAIL: john.com
He must have been promoting his album to try & overtake the mice girls.
E-MAIL: john.com
I saw a pretty good riddle on another page. What do you do if a spice girl throws a hand grenade at you?
E-MAIL: Heather

E-MAIL: john.com
You must have seen the same page. I forgot where it was.

E-MAIL: JImmy Page
Actually, it's makes him look like a wimp in the previews. But, I like ALL Harrison Ford movies. He does alot of movies based on books by Tom Clancy, I've noticed.

The Beatles` first LP, recorded in a single day in two-track mono. Contains mostly cover versions of songs byother artists of the time that the Beatles had beenperforming live for a few years both in Liverpool andHamburg. Also contains the number-one single Please PleaseMe, and their first single, Love Me Do (although a differentversion, featuring Ringo on tambourine but not drums!).
