Comments for The Knack, Serious Fun

The "comeback" album for this brilliant power-pop band is a lot more than just a lame attempt by a group of middle-aged popsters trying to reclaim their status of yore. It IS however, an excellent addition to their already sparkling track record. Released ten years after the bands "fall from grace," SERIOUS FUN is just that. Some FUN music made by the guys who took so much grief for the overblown promotional whirlwind that overshadowed their brilliant debut record in 1979, GET THE KNACK. Don Was puts his magical production talents to the max on SERIOUS FUN. If you liked the original three Knack records when they originally came out, you will also love SERIOUS FUN. If you have never heard of these guys and you run across a cheap, used or cut-out copy of this record(it has sadly been discontinued and turns up in budget CD bins constantly!) do yourslf a favor and pick it up. It rocks and the hooks are there! A great record that got overlooked!
