Perhaps the weakest Beatles' album; it descends into rockabilly somewhat too often. Still, tracks like "Eight Days a Week" & "I'm a Loser" are classics.

Although the first three Beatles albums followed the same pattern of originals and covers, it was here that the contrast between the two became really apparent ... the distance between "Eight Days A Week" and "Words Of Love" is remarkable. As such, it is the only "transitional" album in The Beatles canon. And, yes, it's the weakest of their albums (with the exception of Let It Be) ... but it's still great.

This is a great album, my favorite song is Honey Don't followed by the rocker, rock & roll music. I think "With the Beatles" is weaker than this album.

I like the Beatles, though this album isn't one of their best because of covers like MR. MOONLIGHT. But a bad Beatles album is better than a good everclear album. "I'm a loser" is a cover the audience always dig when my band plays it .It such a swingin sad song for guys who think their too cool for their lady ......then get burned! Pretty prophetic.

To anyone who says the beatles suck you need to get a clue and why are you in this page any way? TJhis is a good album but I think it is a little weak compared to their other ones. the beginning of eight days a week is a good part.

Not their best album. "Eight Days A Week" and Mr. Moonlight" are dreadful. But some of the covers are good ("Honey Don't"), and it contains some great original tunes that begin to show great songwriting development away from cute love songs. "I'm A Loser" in particular.

i really like "rock and roll music". that's always been one of my favorites, for as long as i can remember.

That's pretty good. I was never a huge fan of the song for some reason (porbably the Beach Boys version of it) but the Beatles go a pretty good job of it.

I like Chuck Berry. Elvis got all the praise, but Chuck Berry has the talent. How many musicians cover his songs? Too many to count.

all the beatle albums are more or less essential to any collection because everybody has their own favourites. john was not a big fan of "eight days a week" (mccartney wrote it though), but i believe it's a great song. "no reply", "i'm a loser", and the lovely "i'll follow the sun" are all terrific songs. among the covers "everybody's trying to be my baby", and "rock and roll music" are standouts. this isn't landmark stuff to be sure, that would come later, but don't dismiss this as weak folks, they were just getting started on the masterpieces that would come soon after. shrug.

i like them too. a couple of weeks ago i bought this 20 song greatest hits cd. it's pretty good. i especially like "kokomo".

I dont' really think that they can play real well, but they make up for it by their voices. They are so cool. They remind me so much of Weezer, because them and Weezer both harmonize their voices and write songs about the Beach, beer, and surfing.

I think it is, but I wouldn't bet my life on it. I have one of their records "Endless Summer", and I think that Many of their songs are cool like "Shut-down", "Fun, fun, fun", "Catch a Wave", "Help Me Rhonda", and "Be True To Your School". All of these are good songs.

i forgot about this page too, sorry about that. i have a 20 greatest hits cd that is quite good. i like "kokomo" "surfin usa" "california girls" etc.
