Comments for Beatles, The, Help!

E-MAIL: jlowe@central.georcoll.on.ca
Although not as solid as "A Hard Days Night", "Help" reveals a band moving ahead, gradually shopping their mop-top image for more sophisticated "rock". "Yesterday" may very well be one of the most beautiful songs ever recorded.
E-MAIL: larson@cs.uiowa.edu
I find this to be the best of the early sound. They really got their act together on the film songs. All are solid! Also they start to branch out in different directions with the Dylanesque Lennon number, and the inventive drums on Ticket to Ride. A must have.
E-MAIL: uldiss@pid.bkc.lv
I don't know why, but I like Help! most of all The Beatles albums. It's simple, but but it's true
E-MAIL: ericy@sisna.com
E-MAIL: ericy@sisna.com
i love your show on help
E-MAIL: studley@linetap.com
About 3 years ago I bought Help! It was my third Beatles album, the first two being the Beatles 1962-66 and 67-70. On those albums there were only 4 songs that were also featured on Helo, so those were all I listened to. After a while I began listening to the rest, and WOW! Also, I agree with what was stated above about Yesterday being the most beautiful song in history.
E-MAIL: JKalzBon@AOL.com
My personal favorite too. Being a diehard Bealte fan can do wierd things to the brain, I suppose.
E-MAIL: E-MAIL: This album is the best out of my top seven.I especially like " Ticket to Ride " , " The Night Before " , and " Yesterday ". The Beatles live on!
E-MAIL: Walrus
Great album!!!thumbs up!!! my favorites are "The night before" and "you like me too much" which I think should be on the film. The Beatles rules! today's music suck, thanks to the Beatles, I don't have to listen to today's crap. I'm 20 years old and I hate the music of my time(80's,90's).
E-MAIL: beatles@collector.org
Super nice album. But...it contains what I feel is The Beatles worst song (if there is such a thing)! That song (drum roll): "The Night Before" (never liked it / still don't) Beatles Forever!! Roger (1st generation fan)
E-MAIL: Walrus
hey: beatles@collector.org, so you're a first generation fan, so what!!! it doesn't mean you like'em more than i do. You're probably old and deaf...how can you hate "the night before"??? You must be a complete idiot with no taste. You probably like the drug related songs right??? you better start collecting mechanic ears from now on.
E-MAIL: JWilso2728@aol.com
I'm still trying to decide on a favorite album. I guess being a diehard Beatles fan, I am expected to have a favorite. At this point, this is it. Love the movie. Sometimes, instead of the CD, I play the movie while I work on my computer.
E-MAIL: spoon
I have seen the movie and it rocks! Ringo falls through the floor several times. If you don't like the songs then you don't like the Beatles. The song " You've got to hide your love away" is the best yet. Paul is the CUTEST.
E-MAIL: therman822
The Beatles are to rock & roll what Bach is to classical music. You either love the music or you don't.
E-MAIL: pottery@eot.com
I agree with therman822 and I wonder how you guys can pick your favorite Beatles record! I love them all equally! In my own opinion the Beatles never realeased a terrible record, some may not have lived up to some peoples expectations, but I love them all! Help! really is a cute album, and the movie is great! a must see- two thumbs up!
E-MAIL: beatlefan
Hey Walrus, you have a real attitude problem. Even though I feel You've Got to Hide Your Love Away is a great song too, I think that everyone has the right to their own opinion! Not everyone likes every one of the eatles songs(like me so far). I really love this LP & the movie is great too! I like the movies of today, but it doesn't compare to the Beatles!
E-MAIL: beatle fan
I think that the ablum was great. I also own the movie which was good for a 60s movie. the best song is your gonna lose that girl.
E-MAIL: Beatles fan 2
The movie "HELP" was the best movie ever done by the Beatles. I personelly think that JOHN was the funniest in the movie, even though it was more about RINGO. One fo my favorite songs that was on "HELP" was "YOU've Got To Hide Your Love Away".
E-MAIL: Beatlefan
O.K. who is using my name? I'm geting tired of seeing my name being repeated over & over. Let it be known that my new name from now on is BeatleBabe! I'd gretly apprecite it if all of you would not use my new name.
E-MAIL: christij@jetstream.net
What can I say, I love all the songs
E-MAIL: MrKite
I think you guys pretty much said it all.. "Help" is a simple but damn fine album from start to finish. I also think it was the Beatles' first really good album and ultimately led to bigger and better things.
E-MAIL: @dr. maxwell
To all of you pathetic people who have responded to this, you are all in need of HELP, and i am not talking about the album. Yo, walrus lighten up and get a life, or i'll put your lights out. Have a nice day, Dr. Maxwell.
E-MAIL: thivier@vision.eri.harvard.edu
A great album, but it makes me feel really old!
E-MAIL: @bungalow bill
Question? Did Ringo ever get that ring off his finger in the 'help' movie. Also I'm having an argument with my friend over another controversy in the 'Help' movie. He says that in that scene where Paul is shrunk, he eventually returned to his normal size. I say Ringo accidentally stepped on him without knowing it, and then had his shoes cleaned. This is what later started the 'paul is dead' rumors. Any other comments on this.

I like this album a lot. My faverite song is Help.
E-MAIL: john.com
It's a pretty good record. It's a little awkward, as they are developing their talents on some songs while playing the old love song stuff on others. The best songs are You've Got To Hide Your Love Away, Help, Ticket To Ride, I've Just Seen A Face and Yesterday.
E-MAIL: Heather
i think that this is one of my favorite albums. they start to follow something of a new direction in this one. i can't pick a favorite from this one. it's too hard.
E-MAIL: john.com
Favorite, huh? I think it has more than it's share of plain mediocre average songs on it.
E-MAIL: Heather
you would think that, wouldn't you?
E-MAIL: john.com
Uh-huh.
E-MAIL: Heather
well, that's just FINE.
E-MAIL: john.com
thank you.
E-MAIL: Heather
you are NOT welcome!: )
E-MAIL: john.com
Too late. I already was.
E-MAIL: Heather
that's not fair!
E-MAIL: john.com
live with it, sister.
E-MAIL: Heather
NO! Do not go quietly into the night...Rage! RAGE against the dying of the light!
E-MAIL: john.com
Quietly into the night? The night is when I usually wake up.
E-MAIL: xena
you guyz are very confusamous:)
E-MAIL: Dylan Thomas
you guys don't know anything about poetry.
E-MAIL: Bob Dylan
I know alot about poerty, do you? Mr. Jones
E-MAIL: Heather
wow! is that the real Bob Dylan? poor john.com is gonna be sorry he missed this!
E-MAIL: john.com
miss what?
E-MAIL: 1
Bob Dylan was here, and you missed it!
E-MAIL: john.com
Dammit! If it wasn't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all. I see you went back to your old name 1
E-MAIL: Heather again
it's a lot easier to type, ya know. maybe if you hang around here for awhile, he'll come back. then you guys can talk. wouldn't that be fun for you?
E-MAIL: john.com
I doubt it. He's still recovering from that life threatening virus he had.
E-MAIL: Heather
i read in the paper today that there is a new strain of the hantavirus in Argentina that can pass from person to person. is anyone else scared out of their mind?
E-MAIL: Heather
because, i of course, am not. i am not worried at all....
E-MAIL: john.com
I would be if I lived in Argentina.
E-MAIL: Heather
i take it you don't live in Argentina.
E-MAIL: john.com
New Jersey
E-MAIL: Heather
Oh, that's much better. No weird diseased people there: )
E-MAIL: john.com
Just polluted air.
E-MAIL: Heather
mmm, i love the smell of car exhaust in the morning!
E-MAIL: john.com
Too bad they can't make gasoline out of hemp. Then I would really love the smell.
E-MAIL: Heather
woah, there, buddy! you isn't a smoker, is ya?; )
E-MAIL: john.com
No way. I despise cigarettes - never smoked one in my life.
E-MAIL: Heather
one time at school, this guy showed up at lunch smoking. my nut friend decided we should be the ones to tell him about the no-smoking policy. i went with her to tell this guy to put out the damn cigarette, and he ends up offering me a drag. okay, it was a lame story.
E-MAIL: john.com
I hope you didn't take a drag. Ciggys are bad news.
E-MAIL: Heather
um, no. i didn't do it. i didn't know where that ciggy had been, or where his mouth had been either.
E-MAIL: john.com
I meant smoking in general
E-MAIL: Heather
i'm a non-schmoker. i've seen too many of my relatives hacking and wheezing. i don't think that's the life for me, but i don't mind other people smoking. i'm tolerant of that. but not of the artist formerly known as prince. i hate that guy!
E-MAIL: john.com
You shouldn't tolerate it. 2nd hand cigarette smoke is just as dangerous. I like the artist formelly known as prince better than and kind of cigarette smoke.
E-MAIL: Heather
well, my grandmother would smack me upside the head if i had ever told her not to smoke. my aunt would just kind of laugh, and the rest of the family would tell me they appreciate my concern, but to hell with it all. but none of these people live within 400 miles of me, and my dad hates smoking for the same reason, so my lungs are clean.
E-MAIL: Heather
how can you tolerate that ass more than smoking? more than anything?
E-MAIL: john.com
Because smoking (1st or 2nd hand) is bad for your health. Prince isn't - since I don't have to turn on the radio. His music can exist without affecting me. And while I despise all dance music, his stuff is slightly more tolerable than most others who do the same thing (ex. Jocko & Lice Girls).
E-MAIL: harmony
thats debatable. prince could be bad for your mental health wich is just as important .
E-MAIL: Flower Child (formerly Heather)
good point, Harmony. Prince is a terrible, terrible "artist"- I hate him! [lice girls?! hee hee.]
E-MAIL: john.com
Flower child huh? He may be bad for your mental health, but you can avoid him by not listening to lousy radio stations. All this time, I never heard one note of the lice girls until watching SNL. Now I never have to listen to them again.
E-MAIL: Flower Child
yes, yes. my new name is Flower Child. it captures the essence of my personality, wouldn't you say?
E-MAIL: john.com
Sometimes :->
E-MAIL: Heather
perhaps not. i think i'll go back to the real-deal, Heatherfield.
E-MAIL: john.com
I'm not a big boxing fan (and I'm not shelling out $50 to watch it either) - there's a Mets/Pirates game on TV I'm gonna watch instead.
E-MAIL: Heather
i don't like the mets. their uniforms are ugly...pinstripes are sooo much better.
E-MAIL: john.com
The Mets home uniforms have pinstripes. The Skankees road uniforms don't.
E-MAIL: Heather
[would loooove to kick the hell out of john right now...]
E-MAIL: who wouldn't?
E-MAIL: harmony
now heather. be nice.
E-MAIL: Heather
okay, rainbow, i'll try. but you tell that jackass to stop taunting me with his *puerile* name calling, awright?: )
E-MAIL: harmony
o.k. but i just have one favor to ask..... call me by the right name.....please.
E-MAIL: Heather
ah, the idiot strikes again! sorry about that *Harmony*!
E-MAIL: john.com
"jackass" - who is being *puerile* now? It's that former flower child.
E-MAIL: john.com
congrats. Your boy Tino won the all-star game homerun hitting contest today.
E-MAIL: Heather
oh, he is my boy, and he did a damn good job! i was sooo proud. isn't he the best? i'm in love with him, but today i read that he's married with kids. i was crushed! that's okay, though. i'm still damn proud of my boy Tino! #24!!
E-MAIL: john.com
I respect his talent, but still hate the Yankees. I liked Tino better when he was with Seattle.
E-MAIL: Heather
speaking of the Mariners, they also have another really great guy! Alex Rodriguez is the best! he's my boy too. and from what i hear, he's not married, not attached. at least, i wish. but does it matter? no. i have no way to ever meet him. sigh...
E-MAIL: john.com
He's a great young player. I like him.
E-MAIL: Heather
his favorite band the Rolling Stones.
E-MAIL: john.com
What TV show did you get that off of? (good choice though)
E-MAIL: Heather
tv show? no, i got it out of a magazine. i hate those tabloid shows, and i refuse to watch them. isn't he the best...
E-MAIL: john.com
I hate those shows too. I just can't think of too many outlets that would give personal interests of atheltes.
E-MAIL: Heather
[blushes]...well, i got it out of Sports Illustrated for Kids. don't judge me! i get my Alex info anywhere i can find it. there's an interview with him and his best friend, Derek Jeter (swoon!) in inside sports. everyone in the store looked at me funny when i bought that magazine. then a tourist asked me where he could find a certain store...but damn! was he hot! i didn't mind this time...
E-MAIL: john.com
Ha Ha. I started thinking about the magazine store scene in Bananas. Did you rent that one yet?
E-MAIL: Heather
no, i never remember to rent that. why? is it really funny?
E-MAIL: john.com
I think Bananas is a really funny movie - though not everyone likes Woody's sense of humor.
E-MAIL: harmony
ummmmmmmm.........ummmmmmmmm..........ummmmmmmmmmm.........Hi!

nO kIdDINg!
The Beatles` fifth LP, and the first of the CD releases tobe in stereo. George Martin went back to the original4-track tapes for this album and remixed them digitally forCD, and the effort clearly pays off. The first `side` ofthis album features songs from the Beatles` secondfilm "Help!".
