Excellent! It's as fi they just got bakc from a long vacation and decided to record another album. Quite amazing that it wnet all the way to number 3. To all doubters: not bad for a rock group that broke up 25 years ago.

As an old (45) guitarist who played in numberless garage bands in the 60s, I was very pleased with this album. I was glad to learn that the Beatles played pretty much the same song list the rest of us did. This is the best yet look at the musical roots from which the Beatles grew. The best version of "Hippy Hippy Shake" belongs to the Swingin" Blue Jeans, though.

A great display of the musical roots of the best ever vocal-instrumental group. Compare their "Hippy Hippy SHake" to the version by the Swingin' Blue Jeans, another Liverpool beat group from the early sixties. This album is well worth the $$$

This is one of the best and most enjoyable live recording sets ever made. It demonstrates the power that this group had over the music that influenced them, which is rare. This is a must-have for anyone who has a weakness for old-fashioned rhythm and blues and rock n roll. There is a raw energy here that can't be found in the computerized and synthesized studios today, where all the life is sucked out of the music and it ceases to be REAL. This represents the best of what good music is all about!

More interesting as a collector's item than a CD to listen to. "The Beatles at the BBC" shows the lads in their early years, and wants for something that really stands out. Really just a stop-gap until "Anthology" comes out.

This is excellent! The Beatles were definitely a band who could take another band's (or performer's) song & make it a "Beatles" song. They had that touch and talent that so many bands today lack. The could've left "A Taste of Honey" out though!

Great, great rock & roll music. This functions as a "missing link" between the Beatles' sound and that of the songs & performers which they have always cited as an influence. The first disc is especially good. I think that anyone who likes the Beatles and buys this out of curiosity is going to be surprised at how good this is. The only mystery here is why this didn't come out sooner, because the material sounds great and basically represents the tight, proficient, flexible cover band which we have always heard stories about developing in Hamburg.

This cd sucks. Its boring stupid and idiotic. But The Beatles rule!

Hello? swoosh8 are you mental? This CD, with songs written mostly by American songwriters and later done by The Beatles, is like The Beatles' tribute to their idols. If it had not been for these people, The Beatles would possibly cease to exist(the horror!!) because they paved the way for our beloved Fab Four. Also,by way of The Beatles' radio appearances, they became more well known by the British youth.OK end of lecture Bye!

This album is excellent because it provides us with insight into the formation of what some would call a garage band into a mega group. How long have they been going for now? True Beatles fans will never let their legacy die. Rock on Beatles!

Rare recordings from BBC shows 1962-65. Includes between-song patter. Some tracks unreleased on previous Beatles albums.
