Comments for Thompson, Richard, Amnesia

This is a dream album. I drive to work daily and play this over and over again. For anyone who understands British cafes, going out with the lads, standing on street corners talking about Norton Featherbed frames, going up to the edge to see a sunrise on a Sunday morning, getting laid for the first time and being rejected, understanding frustration and appreciating being lost - then, for all these things and more - Richard Thompson contributes far more to the development of modern British, narrative music than any other artist I know. One of his more pop oriented records, with "Turning of the Tide" and "Reckless Kind". Not a bad track here.
I admit it I am a Richard Thompson freak. He`s never made a bad album in my opinion, just some not quite as good as others. This one is terrific. Jerusalem on the Jukebox is a chillingcondemnation of suburband hypocrisy. Waltzing for Dreamersshould be made into a country song. It would be a great hit.
