I must agree that 'Red Heaven' is an extremely good album. This album contains two of the best bass-lines ever written, on 'backroad' and 'rosetta stone.' 'pearl' is a classic Muses song, and proves that Hersh is still the best at changing pace midway through a song.

"Red Heaven" is a definate long player: it is 1996 and I still take it with me everywhere I go in ! Some of the most brilliant songes Kristin ever wrote are on here - "Carnival Wig" ("It looks like your left hand don't love me..." painful raw emotion, just beautiful). As well as "Pearl", "Furious", and "Firepile". Getting to see these songe performed live by Kristin in the fall of '95 and meeting her (as well as crying and hugging her) was a crystalized moment in my life. Her eyes are glossy and very ghostlike as she plays; they go beyond what we know as reality. Tanya Donnelly was fair, but this band never really needed her. She has, and always will be dwarfed by Kristin. Buty "Red Heaven" and all theother Muses releases, please.

IF anything, this album display''s the creative qualities of Kristen that Tanya/Belly lack. It''s very direct, loud and scathing. Beautifully harsh and emotionally intense. Definitely not yr pretty lil pop album
A disappointing album for Throwing Muses fans. They just don`t seem complete without Tanya. Still, some songs make you groove. The _University_ album shows that their is life after Tanya`s departure.
